Peter’s Take
The bar said it all — there were many familiar faces and names at the October 9, 2025 alumni meetup. I personally worked hard to get the Promotion group out and, well, mission accomplished. The event was ogrganized by Peter Milburn, Michelle Mitchel, Graziella Guerra, Nina Mehta and Amy Yallof in partnership with Rose Cirricione who runs the Time Inc. Alumni Facebook group.
Time Inc. Promotion Group from 90s on through aughts and teens
There were so many great stories. I’ll let others recap different conversation clusters, but the Promotion group of course talked creative and promotions. Especially those greatest hits. Like applying Public Place direct mail creative the professional marked which, I can attest, drove huge ROI in the 90s. What consumer didn’t want to think they could “trick” Sports Illustrated to get that “Professional Discount” sent to them by mistake. I learned that Anil Singh had hired Jerome Sala. That they pitch concepts for the DRTV launch of EW and “beat the [external] agencies” Promotion was always competing against. And there were many more personal stories as well. It turns out I’ve lived two blocks from Suzanne Reisel for the last 20 years and didn’t know it.
Nina Mehta’s Take
We did it again—this time with just a hint of that crisp fall air as we went out to meet one another.
While Time Inc. may no longer exist in the same way it once did, the bonds and relationships endure
Last week, we gathered at one of the regular haunts of many happy hours past, and honestly, it felt like no time had passed (well…except maybe the music got louder 😉). So many faces, so many names, and countless cheers. I especially enjoyed catching up with Nili (Doft) who I haven't seen in years, Natalie Volkman, Rose Cirricone, Lisa Ouyang and Hans Helmers.
